Eight members of the 53-man squad did not play in the Denver Broncos“26-7 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.
Broncos quarterback Zach Wilson, safety JL Skinner, wide receiver Devaughn Vele, running back Blake Watson, cornerback Kris Abrams-Draine, tight end Lucas Krull and defensive lineman Eyioma Uwazurike were inactive in Week 3.
Skinner was sidelined with an ankle injury and Vele is still working his way back from a rib injury in Week 1. The other five inactive players were left out Sunday.
Despite his inactivity, Wilson continued to serve as the team’s backup quarterback. Bo Nix played every snap on offense, so primary backup Jarrett Stidham also did not play, giving Denver eight total players who did not play against the Buccaneers.
Broncos rookie running back Blake Watson has been inactive in all three games this season. Tyler Badie was promoted from the practice squad to the game squad Sunday. and he impressedWe could eventually see Badie fully promoted to the active roster if he continues to play well.
