Trent Brown’s season-ending injury further worsens Bengals’ 0-3 start

The Cincinnati Bengals have had a very poor start to the 2024 NFL season. Cincinnati is 0-3 to start the season with crushing losses to Washington and New England that have put the Bengals in a deep hole to start the season. The Bengals also received devastating injury news on Monday that confirmed their worst suspicions.

Bengals target Trent Brown suffered a season-ending knee injury Monday night against the Commanders, according to Jordan Schultz. The injury itself is a ruptured right patellar tendon that will require surgery to repair.

Fortunately, Cincinnati has a Plan B. The Bengals will have to turn to first-round pick Amarius Mims to replace Brown in the starting five.

The Bengals will miss veteran Brown on their roster, as he brings experience and stability to the offensive line. Amarius Mims is a promising prospect with incredible measurables, but Brown’s injury will force him into action before the Bengals want him to.

Cincinnati’s offensive line held up well on Monday Night Football, even after Mims joined the team. That should give Bengals fans hope that things can only get better with more practice reps for Mims.

The Bengals will look to get back on track in Week 4 as they face a suddenly frisky Panthers team.

Bengals coach Zac Taylor speaks out on Week 3 loss, Cam Taylor-Britt’s comments

Bengals coach Zac Taylor had many reasons not to be happy after the conclusion of Monday Night Football.

Taylor responded harshly to comments made by defender Cam Taylor-Britt about the Commanders and Jayden Daniels earlier in the week.

“That’s not what we do,” Taylor said at a news conference, according to Mike Petraglia. “We congratulate our own team, we congratulate the other team. We don’t need to take hits like that.”

Taylor-Britt cridiculed the complexity of Washington’s offensive scheme and what he asks Jayden Daniels to do.

“They don’t make him do much,” Taylor-Britt told reporters, according to Evan Winter of A to Z Sports. “They really make his life easier.” [It’s a] nice university attack [and] Kingsbury is the offensive coordinator. They move guys around, but he keeps it very simple for him. I hear his passing percentage is very high, but he only throws short routes. Intermediate stuff, quick throws.

He was humble after the match and admitted his mistake.

“Yeah, I can take it back, for sure. We took a loss today,” Taylor-Britt told reporters after the game.

The Bengals will need to turn things around quickly or risk missing the playoffs. History is not on their side after an 0-3 start to the season.
