The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are back on top after a 33-16 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. Their Week 3 loss to the Broncos looked like a fluke and the Bucs proved that was exactly that in Week 4. The team is still short several key players on its roster, but is still finding a way to win behind a d-what it takes. in attack and a solid defense. Next up is a short week’s trip to Atlanta for their first divisional game of the year on Thursday Night Football.

See where everyone has the Bucs after the Eagles’ 33-16 loss in Week 4.

“THE Week 3 loss to Broncos doesn’t seem so bad after Bucs beat Philadelphia (and Denver beat the Jets) in Week 4. It was an encouraging performance for the Tampa Bay defense, preventing a short-handed Eagles offense from getting going while racking up six sacks. And Baker’s presentation Mayfield and the offense were an equally important statement after a bad game against Denver. The Bucs continued to pepper Philly’s coverage with quick hitters, nickeling them and deadening them. They limited negative yardage snaps (four in 74 plays, not including a knee-down to end the game), committed only two penalties on offense and did not turn the ball over. The bulk of the schedule arrives now, with a six-game pack including three divisional contests and three heavyweight clashes. against the Ravens, Chiefs and 49ers. I feel better about the Bucs’ chances in this stretch after Sunday’s win. »

“First-round center Graham played every snap, but fourth-round running back Bucky Irving appears to be the Bucs’ top pick. Irving had 10 carries for 49 yards and a touchdown Sunday and is Tampa Bay’s leading rusher with 203 yards. His 5.8 yards per carry ranks seventh in the league (among backs with at least 20 carries), according to TruMedia. On the veterans’ side, Mike Evans started Sunday with eight catches for 94 yards, his highest output of the season. »

Getting rid of an ugly defeat with a convincing victory is one of the hallmarks of a great team.

“Through Week 4, the Buccaneers had just two sacks — the fewest in the NFL. They generated six in their 33-16 win over the Eagles, but that was against a team that allowed QB . Jalen Hurts will be hit 44 times in the first three games. Will this continue? The Bucs certainly had more pressure up the middle with the defensive tackle returning Vita Vea, who was out for one game with an MCL injury, but they are still without a 2023 first-round pick Calijah Kancey (calf).”

“The perennial leaders of the NFC South could separate themselves early with wins at Atlanta and New Orleans over the next two weeks. And the Bucs might have discovered something on the ground, RBs Bucky Irving and Rachaad White both carrying 10 times for 49 yards in Sunday’s decisive game to win Philadelphia.

“They bounced back from their bad loss to the Broncos with a dominant win over the Eagles. They are the team to beat in their division as they head to Atlanta to take on the Falcons.”

“The Eagles offense may be depleted, but it was a pretty healthy Philly defense that was destroyed Sunday in Tampa. Without Sam Darnold, we might be talking about Baker Mayfield as the much-too-early NFL MVP favorite “

“If you factor in the possibility that the Broncos’ defense is good, the Bucs’ loss to Denver isn’t that bad and their three wins are impressive. The Buccaneers are playing well with the All-Pro safety. Winfield Jr. is running out of time.”

“I I wrote this on Sunday and through the language and the sass, I hope my message was loud and clear: This team can win the Super Bowl. They are that GOOD. I realize that Tampa Bay just lost to the Broncos and the Eagles were without their two best receivers. GOOD. Of course. But this defense lives up to the plans we’ve seen from Mike Macdonald, Brian Flores and Vance Joseph so far in 2024. Todd Bowles cooks on that side of the ball and this roster is deeper than we can express here . “
