The San Francisco 49ers are heading in the right direction six games into the 2024 season. The 49ers are coming off a 36-24 win over the Seahawks and are gearing up for another big game against the Kansas City Chiefs on October 20. San Francisco made a notable move on rookie wide receiver Ricky Pearsall before the game as he recovered from injury.
The 49ers announced that they were open training window for Pearsall, who suffered a non-football injury (NFI), according to Ian Rapoport NFL Network.
This decision is excellent news for Ricky Pearsall. The former Florida football player was shot and killed in San Francisco during a robbery attempt in early September, leaving him injured. Fortunately, Pearsall did not need surgery to repair the wound and is on a promising road to recovery.
The 49ers originally placed Pearsall on the NFI on September 2 and expected him to miss at least four games of the 2024 season. It’s great to see the rookie’s practice window reopen as San Francisco Approaching week 7.
Pearsall joined the 49ers as the team’s 31st overall pick in the 2024 first-round draft. He spent three years with the Arizona State football program before experiencing a breakout following his transfer to Florida . Pearsall rushed for 1,207 yards and six touchdowns in his final year with the Gators before pursuing the professional game.
If Pearsall cracks the receiver lineup, he would add valuable support to SF’s offense.
