Outside of the Las Vegas Raiders, the Denver Broncos don’t have a more bitter rivalry than the one they have with the Kansas City Chiefs. Of course, this rivalry has only intensified between the two fans due to the Chiefs’ recent success.
Perhaps no team has been a victim of this recent success more than Denver, as the Chiefs had won 16 straight games against the Broncos. That was until October 29, 2023, when the Broncos took a fairly easy win over the Chiefs, 24-9.
The Chiefs won the Super Bowl for the second year in a row, but the Broncos’ victory is one to build on. The Broncos don’t have this huge dark cloud hanging over them and they know they can beat this team.
As it stands, the Chiefs hold a 72-56 all-time lead in the series. Before last October, the Broncos hadn’t beaten the Chiefs since September 2015… Peyton Manning was the quarterback.
But this game will be played at Arrowhead Stadium. Not only have the Chiefs not lost a game this season, but Arrowhead has long been a place where the Broncos have struggled. This will be a major challenge for this team, especially after suffering a 31-point road loss last week against the Baltimore Ravens.
When was the last time the Broncos won a game at Arrowhead Stadium?
The Broncos have lost in their last eight trips to Kansas City. Their last victory at Arrowhead was on this day in September 2015, and it ended in dramatic fashion.
The Broncos fell behind 14-0 but managed to come back. Manning threw three touchdowns in the game, including one to Emmanuel Sanders with less than a minute to play. The Chiefs were looking to buy time and head into overtime when things got crazy…take a look:

It seems like it was a long time ago. Alex Smith was the quarterback for the Chiefs. Their current quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, has never lost a home game to the Broncos.
Kickoff for this game is set for 11:00 MT and it will be broadcast on CBS. Kevin Harlan and former Chiefs quarterback Trent Green will get the call.
