Did you hear a Pittsburgh radio host predict Friday that the Steelers would run wild Commanders by three touchdowns?
Friday, 93.7 Pittsburgh Fan afternoon host Andrew Fillipponi couldn’t hold back his confidence in the Steelers. As a guest on “The Sports Junkies” on 106.7 The Fan Junkies, Fillipponi boldly declared that the Steelers would win big.
“I feel spectacular about this game…he’s (Tomlin) 13-4 after the bye. He’s 25-6 against rookie quarterbacks. He has the most wins against rookie quarterbacks in the “History of the NFL.”
Referring to the fact that Tomlin is from the Tidewater area, Fillipponi said, “He (Tomlin) wants to go to the D.C. area and win this game by 30 points. I think that will reflect in the way he coaches I think his teams feed off his emotional state, so he will be incredibly excited for this game, and Russell Wilson will be too, for the same reasons.
“I think this game is going to get all their attention, and I’m going to announce it right now. I think the Steelers are going to win the game by three touchdowns, guys… This one, you can put it in the bank .
Pointing to the Commanders offensive tackles, he said it would be a major test for Washington.
“Can your tackles hold up against Alex Highsmith and TJ Watt? Because, make no mistake, there is no more impactful passing combination in the NFL than those two guys.”
Liking the Steelers’ running game, Fillipponi offered:
“I looked at the numbers for Washington, and it looks like this would be an opportunity for (RB) Najee Harris to once again prove to the Steelers that they made a big mistake in not picking up this very affordable option this offseason .”
Washington has confirmed that starting running back Marshon Lattimore and starting running back Brian Robinson will both be out for Sunday’s game against the Steelers.
