Two-time Super Bowl champion urges Chiefs to re-sign him due to injuries

The Kansas City Chiefs are looking to win the three-time Super Bowl championship. However, due to injuries on the offensive line, they may need to bring in some reinforcements.

After Wanya Morris was injured and his replacement, Kingsley Suamataia, struggled, former Chiefs go after Donovan Smith refers to that he is available to sign.

Smith started 12 games for the Chiefs last year during their Super Bowl season. Before his time with the Chiefs, he was a staple on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers line and won a Super Bowl with Tom Brady. Andy Reid radius on the possibility of a reunion with Smith.

“Look, it’s in (Brett) Veach’s domain. I mean, he looks at everything. So I’m not going to say no, but what we do as coaches, and we stress too much, is that we’re going to focus on these kids that are here,” Reid said. “They’re getting better. I know it’s hard to see sometimes, but progress is being made and everything will be fine as we move forward.”

The Chiefs haven’t been shy about signing players who have seemingly been passed over and making them look good. Just look at Kareem Hunt. Even DeAndre Hopkins looked like he was done putting up numbers before joining Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. Smith’s familiarity with Reid, Mahoes and the organization could make him a solid addition.

The Chiefs need to protect Mahomes if they want to win a third straight year. Smith would be a low risk, high reward type signing.
