Bears vs. Packers: Final Injury Report Analysis for Week 11

THE Chicago Bear (4-5) released its final injury report ahead of Sunday’s Week 11 game against the Green Bay Packers (6-3), which featured notable updates.

THE Bear ruled out two players for Sunday’s game: offensive guard Teven Jenkins (ankle) and offensive tackle Kiran Amegadjie (calf). Defensive end Montez Sweat (ankle) and safety Tarvarius Moore (concussion) are officially questionable. The good news is that Chicago will return both starting tackles in Braxton Jones and Darnell Wright, who missed last week.

Here’s a look at the Bears’ final injury report ahead of Sunday:

    Out

The Bears ruled out two players against the Packers, both of whom are offensive linemen. Left guard Teven Jenkins did not practice all week due to an ankle injury suffered last week, and he will not suit up Sunday. Matt Eberflus announced that Ryan Bates, who was at right guard last week, will start at left guard in place of Jenkins. Meanwhile, Chicago will be lacking key tackle depth with rookie Kiran Amedgajie out with a calf injury for a third straight game.

    Questionable

The Bears have two players officially questionable for Sunday, including star defensive end Montez Sweat, who is dealing with an ankle injury. Eberflus seemed optimistic that Sweat will play against the Packers, and they will need him to try to take on quarterback Jordan Love. Elsewhere, safety Tarvarius Moore is questionable as he remains in the concussion protocol. With Jaquan Brisker on injured reserve (as he remains in the concussion protocol), it will be Elijah Hicks who gets the start opposite Kevin Byard with Jonathan Owens as key depth.

    Removed from injury report

    • LT Braxton Jones (knee)

    • LB Noah Sewell (knee)

    • DE Darrell Taylor (knee)

    • RT Darnell Wright (knee)

The Bears return both starting tackles in Braxton Jones and Darnell Wright, who are nursing knee injuries. This is big news with left guard Teven Jenkins sidelined, and there will be some shuffling along the offensive line. With Wright back in the lineup, Matt Pryor will return to right guard while Ryan Bates will replace Jenkins. Elsewhere, defensive end Darrell Taylor is back to provide depth opposite Montez Sweat and linebacker Noah Sewell is back.

    On the reserve/injured PUP list

LS Patrick Scales: Scales had back surgery last month to fix a disc problem, which landed him on IR to start the season. He will miss at least the first four games of the season and is eligible to return in Week 5 against the Panthers. With Scales sidelined, it will be local product Scott Daly who gets the nod at long snapper.

TE Stephen Carlson: Carlson suffered a collarbone injury in practice before Week 4, which landed him on IR. He will have to miss at least the next four games, making him eligible to return in Week 9 when Chicago takes on the Cardinals.

WR Nsimba Webster: Webster suffered a groin injury in the preseason finale against the Chiefs after an impressive first quarter of action. He was placed on IR (no return designation), which officially ends his 2024 season.

Running back Ian Wheeler: “Hard Knocks” fan favorite Wheeler suffered a torn ACL in the preseason finale against Kansas City. Although the undrafted rookie will be able to undergo rehab at the facility when he’s ready, his promising season is over before it even begins.
