New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen is spending the bye week closely observing one of the top quarterbacks in the 2025 NFL Draft.

While the team is considering whether Daniel Jones will start for the rest of the season, he is expected to play his final season with the Giants in 2024.

This likely means the Giants will once again seriously consider the upcoming quarterback draft class, which includes Colorado’s Shadeur Sanders.

Schoen was personally on hand to watch the Colorado-Utah game Saturday afternoon.

There are other prospects Schoen will likely keep an eye on, including fellow projected first-rounder Travis Hunter. The star two-way player has not announced whether he will play cornerback, wide receiver or both in the NFL, but he is trending as a top-five pick.

In his latest draft predictions, Vinnie Iyer of Sporting News had the Giants taking Sanders with the second overall pick.

“Daniel Jones’ roller coaster with coach Brian Daboll continues to descend for periods after limited peaks. Jones’ work and the Giants’ struggles could lead to Daboll not returning, but whoever is in charge of the offense is reportedly pushing to replace Jones with Sanders The Colorado star stands out from other QBs as the most refined pocket passer, one who can fit seamlessly into the vibe of the Giants’ youth movement with WR Malik. Nabers, RB Tyrone Tracy Jr., TE Theo Johnson,” Iyer wrote.

Drafting Sanders would mark a new era for Giants football and with Schoen within reach, he is a prospect who will be linked to New York throughout the offseason.
