Ramsey has had several knee issues during his nine years in the NFL, including one that delayed his debut with the Dolphins by seven weeks last year. So when the veteran corner showed up on the Dolphins’ injury report after Thursday’s practice, there was concern he might miss more time.
In total, Ramsey has had four reported knee issues since joining the NFL. In addition to last year’s meniscus tear in training camp, he also suffered a partial meniscus tear before his rookie season in 2016, an LCL sprain in 2019 and a knee sprain in 2021. Yes. Ramsey first appeared on the Dolphins’ injury report Thursday when he was listed as a limited participant in practice due to a knee injury. However, head coach Mike McDaniel told reporters Friday that he’s “optimistic” that Ramsey will play on Sunday, and the cornerback has no injury designations (questionable, doubtful or out) for Week 11.
The cornerback has suffered several knee injuries in the past.
Prior to his rookie season in 2016, Ramsey suffered a small meniscus tear during rookie minicamp, although he was able to make his season debut as a starter in Week 1.
In 2019, Ramsey missed a Week 17 game against the Arizona Cardinals after suffering a grade 2 LCL sprain the previous week. In 2021, he was doubtful to play for a Week 9 game as he dealt with another knee issue.
Most recently, the veteran cornerback suffered a torn meniscus last year during his first training camp with the Dolphins. This caused him to miss the first seven weeks of the season.
Week 11 represents the fourth time this year that Ramsey has been on the Dolphins’ injury report. He was doubtful to play in Week 1 as he battled a hamstring injury, which also limited him in some practices heading into Week 2.
Ramsey also participated in a limited manner in a Friday practice while dealing with a knee issue before the Dolphins’ Week 5 game against the Patriots. Despite various appearances on injury reports, the Miami cornerback has yet to miss a game this season.
