The Detroit Lions are a machine right now as they play seemingly every opponent week in and week out. It was no different Sunday when the Lions defense dominated Anthony Richardson and the Indianapolis Colts in a 24-6 victory.
Now, the Lions have a short week to prepare to face the Chicago Bears in Detroit for Thanksgiving. It’s bad news for Dan Campbell and company after suffering a plethora of injuries on Sunday. That list grew further Monday morning when star wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown was added to injury report with a knee injury, according to ESPN’s Field Yates.
“Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown was listed as non-participant in Monday’s estimated report due to a knee injury,” Yates reported on X, formerly Twitter.
St. Brown is the top target for Jared Goff, who is having one of the best seasons of his career in 2024. The former USC star leads the Lions by a mile in all receiving categories with 71 catches, 747 yards and nine touchdowns. Losing him would remove a huge slot weapon and remove Goff’s security blanket against a very talented Bears secondary.

The Lions were very hurt in the victory against the Colts on Sunday. Running back David Montgomery left the game with a shoulder injury and did not return, although he expects to be ready to play Thursday. Receiver Khalif Raymond, offensive lineman Taylor Decker and cornerback Carlton Davis were also injured, so it’s possible the Lions could be shorthanded on Thursday.
Although the Lions have won nine games in a row, they have no margin for error going forward. The Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers are hot on their heels at 9-2 and 8-3 respectively, so the Lions need to keep winning in order to maintain their lead in the race for the No. 1 playoff seed of the NFC.
