As the Cleveland Browns take on the Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football, star defensive end Myles Garrett prepares to hopefully take down rookie quarterback Bo Nix on multiple occasions. Although this is a reunion of Browns wide receiver Jerry Jeudy, Garrett is solely focused on maintaining his status as arguably the best defensive player in the entire NFL.
However, people can’t forget how successful Nix was in his first year in Denver, as he totaled 2,548 yards, 16 touchdowns, and six interceptions. Garrett would even tell the media on Friday that Nix is “very talented” as there is no doubt that the star has no intention of undervaluing the rookie signal-caller.
“He’s elusive and he moved the pocket for them,” Garrett said via team transcripts. “They give him time to throw, and he makes those throws down the field. He’s feeling a lot more comfortable week to week, and I want to move that pocket, and he’s able to use his feet to his advantage, he’s very talented.
Browns’ Myles Garrett wants to write down the wrongs of the Broncos’ last game
There are some things to work out between Garrett and the Broncos, as the last time the two teams faced off, the defensive playmaker injured his shoulder and was unable to play to his full capacity. He would even mention how Broncos offensive tackle Garrett Bolles played successfully against him and how Cleveland is ready to redeem himself.
“Watching the game, I wish I could have used different moves as far as the feel of my shoulder,” Garrett said. “I think I used what I thought I could at the time. And he [Bolles] was a good pass blocker, taking nothing away from him. He did well, as I felt, and they made the most of it. It was a game where we couldn’t get off the field and when we got back on the field, we just couldn’t make those plays to get the offense back into good scoring position.
“I remember many times where we were about to make a big play in the backfield or run the ball, and we just weren’t there,” Garrett continued. “And so, myself, I feel better and the guys with another year of being a part of this defense, feeling good, got a big win, I feel like the guys are ready to catch up that defeat last year.”

With much of the season remaining, Cleveland is in a huge hole at 3-8, but even with the slim chance, Garrett thinks they can make a playoff push. He would tell the media that it all starts with Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski and his confidence in the team around him.
“Because I believe it, and Kevin (Stefanski) believes it,” Garrett said. “That means us, as a board of directors, we believe. And what we believe in, the team will do too. And we’re not going to hide the fact that that’s where our goals and aspirations always lie, regardless of the record. Teams have come back from the worst and we are looking to be part of those teams.
