It must be the holiday season when the Buffalo Bills are asking fans to help clear snow from the team’s Highmark Stadium.
Last year Super Bowl finalist San Francisco 49ers will make the trip to Buffalo for the Week 13 edition of Sunday Night Football, but the elements can pose as many challenges as the opposing team.
According to According to meteorologists, two to three feet of snow could fall on the stadium, with the most likely scenario being 20 to 30 inches of snow. Forecasts show temperatures will drop to around 28 degrees Fahrenheit Sunday evening with a wind chill of 19 degrees Fahrenheit. Wind speeds before the game will reach approximately 15 mph.
To prepare the stands and surroundings of the stadium for the match, the Bills are once again asking for help from their supporters. Anyone over 18 who feels up to the challenge will be paid $20 an hour and provided with food and hot drinks, as well as a shovel to clear snow.
The Bills are used to playing in icy conditions and beat the Pittsburgh Steelers during the Wild Card playoff round last season, with Highmark Stadium once again covered in snow. Fans who braved the cold celebrated their victory by throwing snow into the air after each touchdown.
