The Las Vegas Raiders take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 14, hoping to end their long eight-game losing streak. The Raiders are 2-10 while the Buccaneers are 6-6 heading into Sunday’s game.
The team announced that cornerback Nate Hobbs and running back Zamir White will be excluded from Sunday’s festivities. Hobbs was ruled out with an ankle injury, and White was sidelined with a quadriceps-related injury.
Tight end Justin Shorter is also likely to sit on the bench Sunday due to back pain. Shorter did not play in either Thursday or Friday practice and, according to the report, was listed as questionable.
Running back Alexander Mattison and receiver Jakobi Meyers were listed under QUESTIONABLE. Mattison missed last week’s game for the Raiders with an ankle injury, and Meyers was also relegated to questionable status with an ankle injury. Both had limited play during Friday’s practice.
Even though quarterback Aidan O’Connell was on Thursday’s injury report suffering from an illness, the fact remains that his illness should not be serious enough to prevent him from participating in Sunday’s match. O’Connell participated fully in Friday’s practice.
Running back Ameer Abdullah and guard Jordan Meredith both participated fully for the Raiders during Friday’s practice.
While the status report isn’t what the Raiders were hoping for, certainly losing two key pieces on Sunday and having tight ratings on three others, the Raiders have to make do with who is available to play against the Buccaneers.
