Kansas City Chiefs All-Pro Chris Jones spoke to reporters Thursday about his Cleveland Browns counterpart Myles Garrett. He shared his thoughts on Garrett’s success and hopes he doesn’t repeat that against the Chiefs offense on Sunday.
“Myles (Garrett) is unbelievable. (He) won Defensive Player of the Year last year, he deserved it and he has a lot of respect for his game,” Jones said. “Yes, I have a lot of respect for him and I hope he has no success against us.”
Garrett is tied for second in the league in sacks with eleven and has committed three forced fumbles, maintaining his dominance as the best defensive end.
“Every time you step on the field as a competitor,” Jones said. “You want to outdo everyone you meet on the field with a few competitors. So I think that aspect speaks for itself. But I hope it doesn’t have success.”
Jones hasn’t had many sacks this season due to constant double teams, but he has created opportunities for his teammates. On Sunday, Garrett’s presence on the other sidelines could fuel Cleveland’s star defensive lineman.
