From an injury perspective, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have received some of the worst luck this season. The Bucs were missing a combined 10 starters on both sides of the ball in practice Wednesday.
Bucs head coach Todd Bowles shared updates on several key Bucs starters on Friday ahead of Sunday’s game against the Chargers.
Linebacker, KJ Britt, safety Antoine Winfield Jr. and safety Mike Edwards have all been ruled out due to injuries for Sunday’s game. Cornerback Josh Hayes, running back Bucky Irving and defensive back Christian Izien are all questionable with injuries.
The team missing Bucky Irving would be a less than ideal situation based on his recent performances. If Irving is unavailable, Rachaad White will once again assume the starting role with Sean Tucker serving as a change of pace. The absence of Antoine Winfield Jr., however, will hurt, but bringing back Josh Hayes to combat Justin Herbert and the Chargers’ passing attack would be some good news this team could use.
