THE New Orleans Saints have two anchors along their offensive line, Taliese Fuaga and Erik McCoy. The veteran and rookie will push the offensive line into the future, and they both had standout performances against the Washington Commanders.
Fuaga was on a streak of assists. It is, however, a return to form for McCoy, following his return from a groin injury.
McCoy was the highest rated center by Pro Football Focus in Week 15. The focus is on the pass rush when thinking about the performance of an offensive lineman. McCoy allowed just one pressure on 36 pass-blocking snaps Sunday.
The pressure came off when Spencer Rattler came on. Even when Jake Haener was in the game, most of the pressure came from the right side of the line.
McCoy has been particularly dominant in the running game. His 91.1 rating was also the highest rating of any center in last week’s action. That’s just pressure allowed and an overwhelming performance in the running game.
The Saints’ best offensive lineman is returning to his old self.
