Packers announcer scolds Lambeau Field crowd for disrespectful ‘Bears’ chant

As the Green Bay Packers easily took on the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football, the fans on the field were getting a little rowdy, loudly chanting their rivals, the Chicago Bears. However, with the Packers offense on the field, the Lambeau Field PA announcer put an end to to antics, by Tom Pelissero on X.

“If you’re wondering what it’s like to be at this game right now…the Lambeau Field PA announcer just chastised the crowd for chanting ‘the Bears still suck’ while the Packers are on offense against the Saints,” Pelissero wrote.

Although it’s usually an advantage to play at Lambeau Field as the home team, the home team’s PA announcer wasn’t having it, tell the fans to “stay silent while the Packers attack,” according to Athleticsis Matt Schneidman on X.

Given the Packers’ dominant performance against the Saints, it’s clear that some fans were already looking ahead to their Week 18 matchup against the Bears to close out the regular season.

Even without the Bears at this game, they were taunted by the Packers. With how lopsided their rivalry has been over the past decade, Bears fans have to accept it at this point; they suck – for now.

But, as these teams face off in the final week of the regular season, fans are already ready for their 12th straight win over the Bears as they clinched their fifth playoff berth under the leadership of the head coach Matt LaFleur.

The Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings are both 13-2, with the Packers trailing 11-4. All three teams have two games remaining, making Green Bay’s final two matchups even more crucial.

Heading into these final two games of the season, Green Bay needs to keep their foot on the pedal, as their offense has exploded in the last month. Since being held to 20 points against the Bears in Week 11, the Packers have scored 30 or more points in four straight games.

However, if Packers fans become loud while their team is on offense, the PA announcer at Lambeau Field may have to enforce quiet play again.
