THE Miami Dolphins are, once again, one victory away from returning to .500. After a 29-17 win over the San Francisco 49ers, the team is 7-8 heading into the final two weeks of the regular season.
The Dolphins had opportunities in Weeks 7, 13 and 15 to even out their wins and losses, but came up short three times. Fortunately for Miami, a Week 17 game against the Cleveland Browns appears to offer the easiest chance yet to leave the losing record behind.
But even if the Dolphins finish the year with back-to-back wins, a trip to the playoffs is far from a possibility for the team.
