The Green Bay Packers signed running back Deshaun Fenwick to the team’s practice squad on Tuesday. The opening on the practice squad was created by running back Ellis Merriweather being placed on the practice squad injured list.
Fenfick is a 6-1, 223-pound recruit from Oregon State. He spent three seasons at South Carolina (2018-20) before transferring to Oregon State, where he produced 1,516 rushing yards, 16 rushing touchdowns, 17 receptions, 105 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns in 35 games and three seasons (2021-23). .
According to Pro Football Focus, Fenwick forced 70 missed tackles and made 63 runs of 10 yards or more during his college career.
Fenwick signed with the New England Patriots after the 2024 draft. He played one preseason game with the Patriots, but was released on August 26.
Fenwick is now the only running back on the Packers’ practice squad. The 53-man roster consists of Josh Jacobs, Emanuel Wilson and Chris Brooks, and MarShawn Lloyd remains on the non-football illness list.
