This is the first Pro Bowl selection for Horn, who is in his fourth season.
CHARLOTTE, North Carolina — Carolina Panthers Cornerback Jaycee Horn immediately knew the first person he wanted to talk to about his Pro Bowl selection.
“[My dad] I really wanted to make it happen,” Horn told the media in the locker room on Thursday. “He’s been talking about it for a month.”
Horn’s call was well-received by his father, who knows a thing or two about the Pro Bowl — and, coincidentally, NFL phone calls. Horn’s father is four-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Joe Horn, a former New Orleans Saints player who threw one of the craziest celebrations of all time after revealing a hidden cell phone after a touchdown in from a 2003 match.
Jaycee Horn was among the NFC starters named to the 2025 Pro Bowl on Thursday. It’s the first Pro Bowl nod for Jaycee Horn. He and his father think it should have been done a long time ago.
“It feels good, but I feel like I should be on my third or fourth [Pro Bowl] right now,” Horn said. “I have a lot of catching up to do and a lot more work to do. I could be a much better player.”
The Panthers cornerback had an exceptional season in pass defense. Traditional stats show Horn has one interception, 68 tackles and 13 pass deflections. Advanced stats, however, show Horn’s true production. Horn is second among cornerbacks who have at least 70 targets in incompletion percentage. He also allowed the sixth-fewest receiving yards among cornerbacks with at least 70 targets.
Horn is consistently ranked among the best cornerbacks in Focus on professional football various categories.
The cornerback has been on the field for 98 percent of the Panthers’ defensive snaps this season. Carolina’s defense has been on the field more than any other team this season.

Horn’s consistency in passing defense is a bright spot in the Panthers’ defense, as the team is 38 points away from breaking the NFL record for most points allowed in a season. He hopes to continue to improve and receive new accolades.
“I’m just excited to come back next year and try to stack them,” Horn said.
Guard Robert Hunt, punter Johnny Hekker and running back Chuba Hubbard were the other Panthers players named Pro Bowl alternates.
The Panthers’ final regular season game is Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons.
