Derek Stingley Jr. will make his Pro Bowl debut in February.
Four Houston Texans players were named to the 2025 Pro Bowl Games as members of the AFC roster Thursday morning. Running back Joe Mixon, offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil And receiver Nico Collins led the offense while cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. was named the starter on defense.
Defensive ends Will Anderson Jr. and Danielle Hunter were listed as replacements and could be in the running to replace Cincinnati Bengals star Trey Hendrickson and Las Vegas Raiders All-Pro Maxx Crosby is either expected to opt out.
Stingley, who is poised for an All-Pro season off NRG Drive, was named the AFC starter after finishing in the top two in the combined voting of fans, players and coaches at their position .
Although the actual football match will not start, the players will participate in a series of football-related matches in 2023, so the election of the starters is honorary. On Sunday, both teams will take the field for a friendly flag football outing.
“It’s hard to explain, but I feel happy and lucky to have this opportunity,” Collins said. “To make the Pro Bowl, I feel like it’s a personal goal for everyone. And I ended up getting it.
Here’s a look at the entire AFC defensive slate based on votes. Keep in mind that several positions will be replaced due to opt-outs before the start of the games in Orlando, Florida.
