GREEN BAY, Wis. – In addition to navigating the intimidating NFC North, the Bears will face some of the best teams in the NFL next season. That could include the return of former quarterback Justin Fields when the Steelers come to town.

It’s a given that the Bears will host the Steelers next season, although it’s unclear whether they’ll face Fields, whom they traded to Pittsburgh in March for a sixth-round pick. Fields started the Steelers’ first six games while veteran Russell Wilson was injured, going 4-2 and posting a 93.9 passer rating before returning to Wilson.

Both Fields and Wilson will be unrestricted free agents in March.

The Bears drafted Fields No. 11 overall in 2021, and he played three seasons for them before trading him away and drafting Caleb Williams first overall in 2024.

The 2025 season will feature eight home games for NFC teams and nine for AFC teams, and the Bears would remain in play to be the visiting team for an international game. The league will debut in Madrid next season and the Bears own the marketing rights there.

The NFL typically announces dates and times in May.

Here are the Bears’ finalized opponents for 2025:

    Home

    Lions
    Vikings
    Packers
    Cowboys
    Giants
    Browns
    Steelers
Saints (fourth place in the NFC South)

    Lions
    Vikings
    Packers
    Eagles
    Commanders
    Crows
    Bengals
49ers (fourth place in the NFC West)
Raiders (fourth in the AFC West)

Caleb Williams is an upgrade over Mitch Trubisky and Justin Fields, but he still has a long way to go to become the elite quarterback the Bears are looking for. Coaching failed, but general manager Ryan Poles had the worst season of all.

Chicago Bears vs. Green Bay Packers

The Bears’ quarterbacks are measured by what they do against the Packers. In his first game at Lambeau Field, Williams delivered when it counted.

Interim head coach Thomas Brown of the Chicago Bears watches the second quarter against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field on January 5, 2025 in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

A win against the Packers — and his players’ game ball — are about all Brown should get out of his five-game tenure as interim head coach. But he is confident about his contribution in difficult circumstances.
