Houston Texans exec opens up with big take on Justin Herbert

As the Houston Texans prepare to take on the Los Angeles Chargers on Saturday afternoon in the AFC Wild Card, a stunning quarterback matchup is brewing.

CJ Stroud taking on Justin Herbert will be must-see TV for every football fan. Both signal-callers are among the most talented in the NFL and should put on a show.

Herbert and the Chargers are currently favored to win, but Stroud and the Texans aren’t going down without a fight.

That being said, there is a lot of mutual respect between these two teams.

Houston general manager Nick Caserio spoke out with a bold stand about Herbert. He’s clearly a big fan of the Los Angeles quarterback.

“He’s not going to win MVP, but honestly you can make a compelling argument for why he should,” Caserio said. “I mean, you’re talking about a guy who’s big, who’s strong, who’s more athletic than people think he is, who can make plays with his legs. … And he can take the ball wherever he wants to go.”

Those are big words and they’re especially important coming from a manager of an opposing team in the playoffs.

That being said, all the good things said will end the second the game starts. These two teams will compete hard and want to progress. Unfortunately, only one of them can do it.

It will be interesting to see if the Texans can continue to overcome the adversity around them. They suffered multiple injuries to key players, but still managed to win the AFC South division title and qualify for the playoffs. Houston accepted adversity and continued to find ways to win.

Hopefully fans will see more of the same from the Texans this week. Beating the Chargers won’t be easy, but they are capable of getting the win and moving forward.
