Stop me if you’ve heard this before: After another winless playoff run, the Pittsburgh Steelers will likely bring back HC Mike Tomlin for another season.
Sunday – less than 24 hours after Pittsburgh’s embarrassing loss to the Baltimore Ravens –Steelers initiated Gerry Dulac reported growing fears that Tomlin’s 2025 return could come true:
“The Steelers don’t plan to do anything involving coach Mike Tomlin, according to team sources.”
If the Pittsburgh Steelers keep Tomlin at the helm through 2025, will a potential rebuild be put on the back burner in favor of another “win now” philosophy?
How much longer will Steelers fans have to endure the mediocrity of Tomlin’s so-called winning seasons? The Steelers organization’s loyalty to Tomlin – and its loyalty to his average-to-best coaching staff – is the reason this team has failed to win a playoff game in what will last well over 3,000 days by 2025.
Until more information is made official, fans should treat everything as speculation, but if Tomlin stays, here’s another refill this offseason.
