If the Cleveland Browns Don’t draft a quarterback with the No. 2 overall pick, Penn State passer Abdul Carter has become a fan favorite in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Pro Football Network’s Dalton Miller released his latest 2025 NFL Mock Draft, predicting the Browns will select Carter with the second overall pick.
In his latest run to the College Football Playoff with the Penn State Nittany Lions, defensive end Abdul Carter solidified his status as one of the best players in the upcoming draft class. In 2024, he has amassed an impressive 12 sacks, 24 tackles for loss and 68 combined tackles. If the Browns are unable to trade their pick or find a quarterback they like, could Carter be the best choice for the franchise?
While he may not be a perfect fit, Abdul Carter has demonstrated that he is likely to excel at the NFL level. Pairing him with Browns All-Pro Myles Garrett would be a nightmare for opposing backfields. If the team is forced to select the best player available, don’t be surprised to hear Carter’s name called when the Browns are on the clock.
