NFL Playoff Betting: Bettors like Commanders and Bills will spring surprises to make it to Super Bowl LIX

Will the underdogs be victorious in the AFC and NFC championship games?

Bettors at BetMGM siding with the Washington Commanders and Buffalo Bills against the spread and on the moneyline heading into Sunday’s games. The Commanders get 62% of the bets and 63% of the money as 6-point underdogs to the Philadelphia Eagles, while the Bills get 61% of the bets and 52% of the money as 2-point dogs points for the Kansas City Chiefs.

This means that the best outcome for sports betting is a victory for both favorites.

“Sports bets hoping for Chiefs vs. Eagles Super Bowl; the crowd is all for the underdogs to win and this match would generate great action,” Christian Cipollini of BetMGM said in a statement.

The Commanders are +240 to win the game outright and that’s the most popular bet Friday morning. The second most popular bet is the Bills beating the Chiefs at +110. A whopping 85% of the moneyline bets in the NFC title game are on the Commanders, while the Bills get 73% of the moneyline bets.

The Eagles are -300 to win in a row and the Chiefs are -130. Both lines also changed by half a point. The Eagles opened as 5.5-point favorites and the Chiefs were 1.5-point favorites after the Bills beat the Ravens a week ago.

Cipollini added that the book would prefer Saquon Barkley and Josh Allen to stay out of the end zone on Sunday. Barkley is -225 to score a TD against the Commanders and his anytime TD prop is the most bet on player prop heading into the game. Allen is +100 to score a rushing or receiving TD, and he is the most bet player to score a TD in the AFC title game ahead of Travis Kelce at +130 and Xavier Worthy at +200.

Barkley is also the most bet on player to score the first TD against the Commanders (+360) with Allen to score the first against the Chiefs (+650).

Bettors are also hoping for high-scoring games, even though there is a lot more money on the line in the AFC title game than in the NFC. The total of 48 for the Bills and Chiefs has remained stagnant even though 67% of bets and 89% of money are over. In the NFC, the total is down half a point to 47.5 as 72% of bets and 51% of money are in overs.
