THE Denver Broncos are about to lose the right arm of the general manager George Paton.
Broncos Deputy Managing Director Darren Mougey should be hired by New York Jets as a new managing director, according to a report Josina Anderson, initiated of the NFL.
“A high -level source of the League tells me that Darren Mougey, deputy director general of #Broncos de Denver, will obtain the post of director general of #Jets,” said Anderson. tweeted Friday.
Mougey, 39, joined the Broncos as an intern in scouting in 2012 and climbed the ladder to the post of Deputy Managing Director. Here is what Paton had to say about Mougey at a preliminary press conference in 2022:
I did not know Darren when I accepted this position, but he quickly impressed and he shone. His concern for detail, his work ethics, his knowledge of the League and his knowledge of the professional and college environment [levels]. He has a good idea of what’s going on there. The best thing he does is that he is an excellent personnel manager and has an excellent attitude throughout the building when he treats with coaches, players and agents.
This offseason, I have been trained in many different directions with the search for a coach and the exchange. There are a lot of things that come back. Darren took over and we didn’t miss a crumb. It is really vital for our organization and we are lucky to have it. Several teams continued him last year and he stayed. I can’t thank Darren enough for that. I think he is a rising star in the NFL, and once again, we are lucky to have it.
Mougey was Director of Player Staff in 2021 before being promoted Deputy Managing Director in 2022. In the past four years, Denver’s draft classes have been highlighted by the quarter-Arrière Bo Nix, the jonah passer Elliss, the large receiver Marvin Mims, the corner half of Riley Moss, the passer the rusher Nik Bonitto, the Pat Supervice corner, the guard Quinn Meinerz and the passer Jonathon Cooper.
Mougey’s departure will be a big loss for the Front Office de Denver. The jets may not stop there either, because New York also wants to poach the assistant coach of the Special Broncos teams, Chris Banjo. Denver may soon have two positions to provide before the NFL free agency in 2025.
