Josh Grizzard becomes the fourth offensive coordinator in as many years for the Buccaneers of Tampa Bay.
Tampa, Florida – For the fourth time in as many years, the Buccaneers of Tampa Bay will have a new offensive coordinator at the bar with Josh Grizzard, 34. The coordinator of the Buccaneers Pass 2024 game held his introductory press conference in One Buc Place Thursday afternoon to talk about expectations for the coming season.
“The continuity of having staff and players together is the most important part,” said Grizzard. “What we have done on fundamental principles, we can now evolve at the following level of the teaching of the covers, the D-Line technique, [etc.] – In this way, we can now extend the program, continue adding the league, adding university [and] Continue to put pressure on the defense [as we] Try scoring points.
Grizzard continuously talked about the idea of putting the defense. He likes a physical football brand and thinks that Tampa Bay’s offensive line can help this team go to, as he likes to call it, “the following level”.
“At the end of the day, we want to be physical. We want to be physical because the trenches win. Ball games.”
Despite his age, Grizzard spent a lot of time training. After his stay in Yale as a student assistant, he spent three seasons with Duke under the head coach David Cutcliffe. From there, he spent the next seven years in Miami with the dolphins under some head coaches and six offensive coordinators.
“Take good and evil, and try to take good (from these experiences),” he said.
Grizzard said it was his dream of being an attacking coordinator and started to think of it as one in the last two or three years. There will be a plan in place throughout the offseason to ensure that Grizzard is ready to call games for the first time. Todd Bowles knows this process which passes through him, now, the head coach of Carolina Panthers, Dave Canales.
“(Todd bowles and I) discussed (ways of doing things) the practice of practice as a game. We always talk about it with players, so this is my first time in this position to call games, the quantity of Representatives – As in any promenade of life – is invaluable.
Grizzard is not sure that he will call or not the games of the key or in the stand. Last season, he spent his time in the stand to help Liam Coen.
Grizzard wanted to send a message to the fans at the end of his press conference.
“I am drawn. You know the foundations that are in place. We did not come here to go to the playoffs and lose a home match, so we try to go to the next level [and] Try to bring a championship back to Tampa, and I entered to be here and try to direct this unit on the road. »»
