Now that the former offensive line player of Notre-Dame, Zack Martin, has retired from the NFL, the contributor to the Chicago Sports Network, Matt Fortuna, took the time to classify the former Irish fight Line players who played under the head coaches Brian Kelly and Marcus Freeman.
Martin makes the list at the right guard – he played the left tackle at ND – with Ronnie Stanley (now with the NFL Baltimore Ravens in the left tackle) and Quinton Nelson (left guard, Indianapolis colts). The other two spots go to Zack’s brother, Nick, a former NFL player, in the center and Mike McGlinchey (now with the Denver Broncos) to the right.
To clarify, the list that Fortuna A is Stanley (LT), Nelson (LG), Nick Martin (C), Zack Martin (RG) and McGlinchey (RT).
Fortuna created a second team and put Joe Alt on it. Fortuna said the list was so deep that Jarrett Patterson and Robert Hainey had not even done the second team. Both are in the NFL – Patterson with the Houston Texans and hatred with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Alt, of course, is with the Los Angeles Chargers And was the fifth overall choice of the NFL 2024 draft.
