THE Houston Texans are on the market for a wide receiver and could target an old All-Pro via trade.
According to NFL Insider Jordan Schultz, THE Texans And Washington Commanders have shown “significant interest” to negotiate to Large receiver from San Francisco 49ers Deebo Samuel Before the NFL free agency. The talks would have “progressed in recent days” leading to the combination of the NFL.
Schultz noted that in addition to the Texans and Commanders being the favorites for Samuel, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Denver Broncos also “recorded”. Earlier this week in Indianapolis at NFL combines, 49ers Managing Director John Lynch acknowledged that Samuel may soon be in motion.
“He asked for a new start and I think we are going to honor this,” said Lynch, via Josh Helmer de Niners Wire.
Since his escape season in 2021, Samuel has regulated as a receiver. In the last three seasons, it has an average of 56 receptions for 731.3 reception yards and four affected with 40 races for 197.7 yards and three affected as a weapon off the rear field.
The 2024 campaign marked a hollow for Samuel, who totaled 806 melee yards and four affected. He also treated with a calf, the wrist, the oblique and the injuries to the coast as well as an illness which put it aside for two games and limited it in others.
Deebo Samuel has gradually declined each season since 2021, has a limited role at this stage of his career and would likely want a contract extension.
I hope Houston’s Texans have let another team take this bet.

The Texans are in winning mode while CJ Stroud remains on a recruited contract. Although he has one of the best football reception corps on paper last season, injuries, Limited Stefon Diggs, Nico Collins and Tank Dell to play in just four games together.
Collins returned from an injury to the hamstrings during week 11 and finished with more than 1,000 yards. Diggs and Dell have been kneel injuries at the end of the season, the latter probably missing all the 2025 season during recovery. As for Diggs, the Texans would like to recover it, but with a robust market and a potential franchise label for Cincinnati Tee Higgins, the All-Pro could find a better contract on the free market.
Stroud regressed his recruit campaign of the offensive year in 2023, launching 3,727 yards with 20 affected and 12 interceptions. However, he led Houston to a 10-7 file, a title of the southern Division of the AFC and a second trip to the division of the AFC despite the limits of the game of passes.
Texans must meet other project needs, including the interior offensive line and the defensive tackle. A business for Samuel would not remove the broader receiver from the priorities, but that would make him spend the weekend of the hierarchical order.
At best, Samuel would be a high -end n ° 2 that needed a new start in a new city. At worst, the Texans would probably restructure an agreement, similar to Diggs, to make him a free agent next season after a disappointing stay at the NRG stadium.
Even if the two parties cannot conclude an agreement via trade, expect the Texans to be a Samuel player if he is released before the Libre agency.
