“I always liked football, I grew up with two brothers, my younger brother is actually a very good athlete and he has always recruited me to be a quarter-Arrière,” said Sturm.
“I just think it’s really fun, I have always played with my young brothers and we played Powder Puff in high school, I just think it’s a cool opportunity,” said Johnson.
“It’s exciting for the two Augustana parties and young women,” said head coach Kiley Coyne.
Kiley Coyne, who has played three years with Sioux Falls snow leopards, is the head coach and says that Football Drapeau will open many opportunities for young women to practice a sport they love.
“The NFL has started to promote Football Drapeau for women in high schools and now it gradually passes at the college level,” said Coyne.
Augie joins five other universities in the League.
As part of the partnership, the Vikings of Minnesota with the support of the NFL will contribute $ 140,000 to support the League.
“A game goes to each college, it is essentially money so that we can buy everywhere in our equipment, it will help us with travel because Augustana goes to the TCO stadium,” said Coyne.
They have already had three training sessions. To find out more about the team and its calendar, Click here.
