March 7 (UPI) – Washington commanders released the defensive veteran platform Jonathan Allen, who asked for an exchange earlier this season, the team announced on Friday.
Allen, 30, appeared in 109 games for commanders since he landed with the franchise as a global choice n ° 17 of the NFL 2017 draft. The selection twice from Pro Bowl totaled 401 complained, 60 plated for a defeat and 42 bags during his first eight seasons.
He totaled 19 combined plated and three bags in eight appearances last season, when he missed nine games because of a torn pectoral muscle.
Allen, a previous nominated for the Walter Payton Man of the Year Prize, was the second contractor for commanders.
The commanders signed Allen to an extension of a contract of $ 72 million over four years in 2021. They created $ 16.3 million by releasing it.
