Cincinnati – Bengals released Alex Cappa earlier this week, three years after signing him to be part of the solution to a big problem in Cincinnati. They needed to protect Joe Burrow.
Cappa’s first results were promising, but injuries have derailed his Bengal mandate in the past two seasons.
The Buccaneers of Tampa Bay exchanged against Shaq Mason after the departure of Cappa against Cincinnati in free agency in 2022.
Bengals must follow this plan and replace Cappa by Mason this offseason.
Mason is released by the Texans. The 31-year-old was Ted Karras teammates in New England and made 147 departures in 10 seasons.
The addition of a proven veteran to the right guard has a meaning for Bengals.
The Mason game slipped a little last season, but the whole Texans offensive, including their offensive line, fought for most of the year. Houston publishes the veteran to eliminate $ 9.4 million in the ceiling space.
It would be an upgrade on the offensive front of Bengals and is the exact type of veteran that they should target in free agency.
