After having passed from a selection of fifth round in the draft of the NFL 2021 to the All-Pro honors, the security of the 49ers of San Francisco Talanoa Hufanga has accomplished many things the first four years of his career in the NFL. As a result, the former USC Trojan’s horses defender should have a large amount of pretenders on the free market with the NFL free agency at the corner of the street.
Despite the obvious flashes of talent he has shown in good health, the Hufanga market will be dictated by the way the teams see its medical history. The lack of games played in recent seasons is a final red flag, but whatever, the California native remains one of the best defensive talents available in the free agency class of the NFL 2025.
ESPN Matt Bowen said the talent of Hufanga alone wins a place in No. 16 among the 100 best free agents in the NFL.
“The injuries have limited Hufanga to 17 games in the past two seasons. However, the former All-Pro is a natural disruptor when he is healthy. In 49 career games, Hufanga has 7 interceptions, 2 forced escaped and 1 defensive touch.
Hufanga ranks like the 11th best defender available in free agency and is the third security classified on the market according to ESPN. Interestingly, the only other Trojan to make the list was the quarter-Arrière Sam Darnold at No. 4.

It is a bit of a mystery as to the place where Hufanga could meet. Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that a return to San Francisco was unlikely for Hufanga, and the 25 -year security should be paid elsewhere.
Such a location which has been largely speculated as a landing location for Hufanga was the Texans of Houston. From a logical point of view, it is logical that Hufanga thinks of heading south and AFC. He could find his former defensive coordinator Demeco Ryans, who led Hufanga for his first two seasons in the NFL of 2021-2010.
Ryans being a trainer with a defensive spirit, Hufanga could prosper in a system with which he familiarizes himself. Not only that, but Hufanga could create one of the best NFL safety duets alongside Bullock Calen, another USC product. Bullock succeeded 54 plated and five interceptions during his recruit last season.
The Texans have Eric Murray, 31, and Jimmie Ward, 33, behind Bullock safely. Hufanga could offer a good mix of experience and young people at the Houston post. The size of Hufanga at six feet and 200 pounds could allow Bullock to play on the top in a ball ball role, while Hufanga moves like a piece of chess. With Derek Stingley Jr. and Jeff Okudah, the potential addition of Hufanga could give Texans one of the best secondary in the country.
