Baltimore ravens re-signed the offensive line Ben Cleveland, The team announced on Saturday afternoon.
The replay is quite surprised for several reasons. Not only was Cleveland more limited to the bench in 2024, but explaining only 49 offensive snaps, but he was arrested for leading under the influence last month. Given the other questions outside the Ravens at the moment, bringing him back was not a movement that many saw coming.
A choice of third round in 2021 with Georgia, Cleveland was largely supposed to be the favorite to win the Ravens’ right guarding post after the training camp last season. However, Daniel Faalele, a natural tackle, ended up beating him for work, and he spent the season as a safeguard.
He played a summit of 18 snaps in the final of the regular season against the Browns of Cleveland while the left goalkeeper Patrick Mekari, who signed with the Jacksonville jaguars this week, suffered an injury.
Cleveland has also experienced a good part of the special teams, totaling 117 snaps in the season. He had a timeless competition in the week 6 against Washington commanders, blocking a basket just before half-time.
Cleveland could be in the running to replace Mekari at the left guard, but Andrew Vorhees, who had the job to start the season, seems to be the favorite there. However, it provides decent depth and competition along the offensive line.
