You will immediately notice that Metcalf did not mention George Pickens. Aside from anyone the starting quarter, it is essential that Metcalf and Pickens have a solid employment relationship. Pulling the bowler player twice, a simple text or calling to welcome him would have been the right decision. Pickens is, after all, the most veteran receiver of the team.
It is far too early to see it as a sign of things to come. But it is certainly not a good start.
