After appearing on the lists of three NFL teams during the 2024 season, the former star of the Saraland high school, Vellus Jones Jr., will have another new team in 2025.
The free agent of the NFL concluded a contract agreement with the Saints of New Orleans, Neworleans.football And ESPN reported Saturday evening.
According to October 26 during his third season with the team, Jones joined the Jacksonville Jaguars training team four days later. On December 10, the Carolina Panthers signed the wide receiver for their active list.
In three games in 2024 – one for the Bears and two for the Panthers – Jones had three attempts at precipitation for 11 yards and two kick -off yields for 19 yards.
Since entering the NFL as the Chicago third round choice in the recovery of 2022, Jones has 12 receptions for 135 yards and a touchdown, 20 attempts at 165 yards and a touch, 40 blows for an average of 26.5 yards and five returns for an average of 7.0 yards.
The saints had eight players returning to kicks during the 2024 season, none having more than 11.
Jones was a selection of all states for Saraland in 2014 and 2015.
Jones spent four seasons to Southern Cal and two in Tennessee, capping his university career by sharing the price of the player of the special teams of the year for 2021 with the wide receiver of Alabama Jameson Williams
In addition to catching 62 assists for 807 yards and seven affected in 2021 for volunteers, Jones returned 23 kicks for an average of 27.3 yards and a touchdown and 18 shifts for an average of 15.1 yards.
