The Patriots of New England have not yet completely approached their wide receiver room during this offseason.
Of course, they brought the veteran Wideout Mack Hollins, but the patriots must surround Drake Maye with more. The good news? There are still many options available for patriots to upgrade their receiver unit.
But will the Patriots choose the free agency or the project to add widths to the list? And both?
Nesn Keagan Stiefel stated a plan on “FoxBoro Rush“In which the patriots picked up a large veteran receiver in a free agency to strengthen the group, then added at least one young talent to the post in the draft.
“You take a Brandin Cooks, a guy who turned out to be able to play outside. He can play in this system. He has already played for Josh McDaniels. And he found success wherever he was,” said Stiefel. “He was a 1,000 yards receiver until 2021, then he started to slip into these veteran and large roles. So, I think you sign a guy like Brandin Cooks.

“And then with this additional capital project that you have by reducing Josh Simmons and exchanging, you go ahead and you exchange the first round for Matthew Golden, or you exchange in the first round – or wait according to the way the project is shaking – for Emeka Egbuka, which is perhaps the most pro -prepared receiver for all this project.”
Cooks obviously knows the patriots who played with New England for a season in 2017. He recorded 65 receptions for 1,082 yards and seven affected that year.
The 31 -year -old is no longer at the top of his powers, but he can still contribute. There are only two seasons, he transported eight passes of touch with the Dallas cowboys. Cooks had a Down campaign with the cowboys last season, totaling 26 receptions for 259 yards and three affected in 10 games.
Golden and Egbuka would be good in the draft of the Patriots, but as Stiefel stressed, New England should be traded in the first round. They could both be worth it, especially, especially with Egbuka from a large factory of Ohio State receptors.
