Stefon Diggs grew up not far from the place where Washington Commanders Play their home matches at the Northwest Stadium. He also played collegially at the University of Maryland. Surprisingly, Diggs fell in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL draft, where the Vikings of Minnesota have joyfully selected it.
It took a long time in Minnesota to realize that he had a flight to Diggs. Before his fourth season of the NFL in 2018, the Vikings signed Diggs to an extension, which makes him one of the highest paid receivers of the NFL. Two years after signing this new contract, Diggs was exchanged at the Buffalo Bills, where he helped to transform Josh Allen into one of the best quarters of the NFL.
However, this relationship began to decline, and the Bills exchanged Diggs at Houston’s Texans before the 2024 season. Last season with Houston, Diggs caught 47 passes for 496 yards and three affected before injuring the ACL halfway through the season. Diggs is now a free -free free agent, having a significant injury. So, it is not a surprise that Diggs does not have a new team for two weeks in the free agency.
And the commanders? Would a 31-year-old Digg next be the perfect short-term investment for Washington? Diggs, a grid four times and twice all-pro (as recently as 2022), could be injured, but he proved that he could always be very productive last season. Diggs would tackle alongside Terry McLaurin and Deebo Samuel, giving commanders a deadly veteran trio of passes of passes for the quarter-arrière superstar Jayden Daniels.
Although it has a meaning on the surface, it is also improbable. Commanders could use another receiver, but why not choose this player in next month’s draft? Washington must add young people and gear to the group. Although Diggs may not be as fast as it is in the past and gets injured, there remains a wise road runner who can create after taking.
Commanders will probably add more aid to the receiver; They will probably look elsewhere than Diggs, who has a strong personality. Washington has the type of locker room to thrive with these personalities. However, it is doubtful that the director general Adam Peters and the head coach Dan Quinn wants a veteran recipient around Daniels, who always implores the ball.
Diggs returning home to the Washington region to end his career in the NFL rings like a great history. It seems very unlikely.
