The Carolina Panthers were certainly occupied this offseason, spending a beautiful part of the money to tackle their sick defense.
However, although the panthers have certainly made movements, they have not completely won a huge name, which was somewhat frustrating for the base of fans.
But could Carolina still have something in progress by the NFL Draft, and is it possible that the defender of the Bengals of Cincinnati Trey Hendrickson can be a target?
During a recent appearance in the Pat McAfee program, Hendrickson clearly indicated that he was not satisfied with the way in which contractual negotiations occurred in Cincinnati, and earlier this offseason, he asked for a job.
Given that panthers have an urgent need for assisting passes after finishing with only 32 bags in 2024, they were launched as a natural destination for Hendrickson, who finished second by the defensive player of the year to vote last year.
Here is the warning, however: Hendrickson only remains one year in his agreement and is 30 years old, which means that Caroline should risk losing the Florida Atlantic product for nothing next March or giving it a massive contract extension which could potentially paralyze the long -term panthers.
Carolina should not be in the field of lucrative agreements to aging players, especially when it would give in important project capital in the process. I receive the attraction of Hendrickson, who has shaken 17.5 bags in each of the last two seasons, but it is not the right answer for the Panthers, which only went 5-12 in 2024.
The smarter move for Caroline would be to solve the problem in the draft of the NFL, because there will be many rushers on board later this month. Hendrickson is enticing because of his elite talent and his prolific production, but he simply has no meaning for the chronology of the panthers.
