Baltimore Ravens sticks to the plan of the best available in the NFL Draft, GM says

Baltimore Ravens focus on selecting the best player available at N ° 27 of the NFL draft, whatever the position.

Despite some needs, including a defensive back, the director general of Ravens, Eric Decosta, is firm to find the player who can have an immediate impact on a team with championship aspirations.

“I think we will stick to the board, as we generally do,” said Decasta. “Historically, we were the best team of players available. We spent eight months really building the board of directors according to the players’ ranking and how they accumulate against each other. We think that if we want to constitute a team, it’s the best way to approach it.”

The Ravens have 11 draft choices on the three -day recovery from April 24 to April 26. They have five selections during the first four laps.

Baltimore was a recent success in the first round of the draft. Last year, the Nate Wiggins corner half was chosen 30th in total. Before that, Zay Flowers (2023), Kyle Hamilton (2022) and Tyler Linderbaum (2022) were chosen in the first round, and the double MVP Lamar Jackson was a first round choice in 2018.

Decosta described what he is looking for in guys who get first -round notes.

“Sustainability is a big problem, especially for guys playing,” said Decosta on Tuesday during the pre-radie of Ravens press conference. “You want to talk about recruits that find it difficult to play; it is generally linked to injuries during this recruit season, so I think sustainability is a very big problem, too, in this regard, and then just the ability to learn the game. It is a different diagram. In many cases, it is a completely different terminology, then to be able to overcome the grind. It’s a long season.”

The Ravens have a deadline of May 1 to decide if they will take the fifth year options for Linderbaum and Hamilton.

    Going from 2024

The RAVENS won AFC North in 2024 with a 12-5 file and reached the division qualifying match.

Baltimore beat Pittsburgh, 28-14, in the EFC Wild Card eliminatory match, but lost against Buffalo, 27-25, the next round. Lamar Jackson passed for 4,172 yards with 41 affected and four interceptions.

Ball carrier Derrick Henry has accumulated 1,921 yards with 16 affected.

Are you looking for a new botter?

Decosta was questioned on the question of whether the ravens sought to write a botter While the NFL is investigating sexual misconduct Allegations against Justin Tucker.

“I think it’s worth it, of course. There have been big written kickers,” said Decosta. “It is worth it if you have the right kicker. It just depends on the table, it depends on the player, it depends on how the coaches see it. In addition, it must be said that some of the greatest boots of all time have not been written.

Tucker is a pro Bowl artist seven times and has been with the Ravens since the last time they won a Super Bowl in 2012. He has the NFL record for a basket of 66 yards and the percentage of goals on the highest field with a minimum of 100 attempts.
