Detroit lions could use a rusher pass in front of Aidan Hutchinson.

So maybe they should simply exchange for one of the best on-board players in NFL history.
The status of TJ Watt with the Steelers is uncertain, it is soon due for a probable record contract which exceeds $ 160 million over four years (Myles Garrett).
Pittsburgh could rather opt to exchange watt, write pro football network Sterling Xie.
“Is there really a chance that the Steelers go from a franchise icon and a still elite player?” Xie wonders. “… It is a virtual locking that Watt will not really reach the free agency, but that does not guarantee that it will be back with the Steelers.”
In 2024, Watt had 11.5 bags and forced six escaped.

The Lions had acquired Za’darius Smith last season to join Hutchinson, but between Hutchinson’s injury and Smith’s age, they could never see him play.
Smith is still a free agent at the moment, so he could always return to Detroit in a less exaggerated movement.
“If the Steelers disembark one of the best players in the history of the franchise, the 31 teams should call given its sustainability and its still high performance. The invoices, the lions and the commanders are among the contenders for the Super Bowl with the clearest holes at Edge Rusher who could benefit the most from Watt,” writes XI.
Xie stresses that Watt transactions would probably cost “several first round choices”.
But if the lions can get Watt to help them hunt a super bowl, almost any price was worth it.
Watt is 31 years old in October, but for at least the next two seasons, he will remain one of the best football players. Detroit should want it in a lions jersey.
