Edwards went around the selection of the seventh round of Washington, the former balloon carrier of Arizona Jacory Croskey-Merritt, mainly because of his age and his lack of playing time in 2024.
Croskey-Merritt was limited to a single match last season due to eligibility problems. He rushed 13 times for 106 yards and a hit in the victory of the Wildcats 61-39 against the New Mexico on August 31.
“Washington took five players and everyone was taken in the expected or later range,” Edwards wrote. “There is no problem with the place where Croskey-Merritt was taken either, but there is an older perspective that was limited to a match played in 2024.”
Croskey-Merritt began his university career in the FCS of Alabama State. In four seasons with the program, he rushed to 1,164 yards and 13 affected while adding 29 catches for 335 yards and another score in 31 career games.
In 2023, Croskey-Merritt went to the FBS level to play for new-mexic. He had a campaign in small groups with the lobos, rushing 189 times for 1,190 yards and seven affected as well as seven receptions for 72 yards and a touchdown. Croskey-Merritt had more than more yards on the ground in four games and consecutive performances of more than 200 meters to conclude the year, including a summit of 31 races for 233 yards and a touch in a defeat of 44-41 against Utah State on November 24.
Yes, the 5 -foot 10 inch ball carrier and 206 pounds will be 24 years old when the regular NFL season begins. However, it is someone who has the capacity to have an early impact alongside Brian Robinson Jr. and Austin Ekeler. Croskey-Merrit recorded a 4.45 40 yards dashboard and a 41.5 inch vertical, both the best among the participants in the Big 12 Pro Day.
Croskey-Merritt will have his first opportunity to impress the commanders of the Minicamp recruit in a few weeks.
