After the fall of SheDer Sanders in the fifth round of the NFL 2025 draft, where it was selected by the Browns of Cleveland, the quarter-rear of the temple of the renowned Warren Moon offered pointed advice at the old star of Colorado.
Speaking on Fanduel’s “Up & Adams Show” With the host Kay Adams this morning, Moon tackled the mentality that Sanders needs to adopt to overcome the recent drama and successfully switch from the quarter-Arrière academic to a more difficult role in the NFL.
He specifically warned Sanders against bringing a “half-corner state of mind” to the quarter-back position. He stressed: “There are so much more responsibilities that accompanies him. This is what must understand. ”
From the contrast to the father of SheDer, the legendary corner half Deion Sanders, Moon explained that the two positions require different mental approaches. While the cornerbacks often bring a certain boastful on the ground, the quarter-arre must focus on respect, the constant leadership and the modern role of the NFL QB as the face of the franchise.
Moon said frankly: “You cannot act like a cornerback when you play a quarter. The quarter is a humble position.”

Warren Moon was not a stranger to overcome adversity during his playing days. The former quarter of the Washington University was not drafted at university and began his professional career in the Canadian Football League, spending six illustrious years with the EDMONTON ESKIMOS.
After winning the LCF’s most remarkable player’s prize in 1983, Moon went to Houston’s Oilers in the NFL. During the following 10 seasons, he became a leader in the Houston franchise in the Touché passes, the passing yards and the passes, among many additional team and league records.
He continued his NFL’s mandate for seven additional seasons before winning the honors of the renowned temple of the first ballot after retirement. Moon is considered a pioneer to the quarter position, overcoming racial stereotypes and related challenges to become the first African -American quarter – and the first non -drained QB – to be inducted at the renowned temple of professional football.
The former NFL and CFL star advised Sanders to recognize his past errors, then focus on the competition for the Browns quarterrier work. The quarter of Cleveland is crowded, but currently led by the veteran Joe Flacco, who is not guaranteed to start the regular NFL 2025 season under the center.
Moon pointed out that the position of Sanders draft only affects its short -term financial situation, and not its ability to make the final list of the Browns or to win the departure post. He encouraged Sanders to “put his head on the mill and attack”, by pulling the best party of each representative of the abbreviated pre-season of the NFL.
“No matter where you are written,” said Moon. “This is how you manage it once you are drafted.”
If Sheder Sanders can follow Moon’s advice, adapt this mentality and prove himself in the field, his project position will quickly become unimportant.
