Looking at Houston’s Texans last season, one thing became painfully clear: their attack was simply not up to it.
Although a large part of this has to do with injuries to Stefon Diggs and Tank Dell, the explosive pieces were simply not there for the Texans as a whole, and after losing Diggs against agency free and with Dell which should miss all 2025, Houston added the Iowa State Wide Receers Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel in the recovery of NFL.
However, the position of the wide receiver was not the only problem for the Texans in 2024. They also lacked depth during the ball carrier, which they addressed by also writing the Woody Star Woody brands. Not only that, but Houston also has no exciting playmaker at Tight End.
The Texans signed Dalton Schultz as a free agency a few years ago, and although Schultz was certainly not bad, he was not exactly what Houston hoped.
Last year, the 28 -year -old caught 58 assists for 532 yards and a few affected. Decent production for sure, but it is far from the 78 receptions for 808 yards and eight scores that Schultz published with the Dallas Cowboys in 2021.
Even then, however, Schultz was not a game breeze. It has always connected between 10 and 11 yards per catch -up during its last four seasons and has an average for a lifetime of 10.2 yards per seizure. It is not so attractive, even if Schultz is only a tight end.
Schultz having two years to play on his contract, the Texans could consider negotiating the veteran to open a space in Brevin Jordan and the entrant recruit Luke Lachey.
Jordan has definitely has a stronger capacity on a large scale, and although Lachey seems to be more a type of wood at 6 feet 6 inches, he actually made a 4.70 -second dashboard of 40 yards to scouting combined, which is solid for a tight end (and better than the Schultz brand of 4.75).
Schultz would absolutely hold a certain value for teams related to the search for an upgrade. Again, he is certainly not a tramp; He is simply not very exciting as an army.
The last thing Houston wants to do is to remove the targets from CJ Stroud, but to exchange Schultz and move Jordan in a more important role – as well as to give Lachey an opportunity – could ultimately pay dividends for Texans.
It may be time for Houston to end the Schultz era, which has never been so great at the start.
