This week, centraide from New York (Uwnyc), the New York GiantsAnd the New York Jets celebrated 32 years of partnership during the annual Gridiron gala. Ed Easton Jr. de Touchdown Wire was there while the players and the winners were walking on the red carpet.
One of the winners of this year’s “Hometown Heroes” is the secondary of the Giants Kayvon Thibodeaux. He spoke of his dedication to helping the community through the Jream Foundation (Journey to Rearening in Enrichment and Academic Mentorat).

“It was incredible. I think, you know, many people have flocked to us. We have established a lot of links, and there have been a lot, you know, the big companies that have really flocked in these poorly served communities, you know, through the Jream Foundation.” Thibodeaux said: “So we are here to support this initiative, give children opportunities and support them as they need. It was incredible. I think, you know, the sky is the limit. I think it is, you know, a springboard in my career. I think, you know, there is still a long way to go, but I’m excited.”
Since it has become the fifth overall choice of NFL 2022 draft, Thibodeaux started the 43 regular season games and two playoff games in which he played. He is the first defender of the giants with 21+ bags during his first three career seasons since Jason Pierre-Paul had 27.5 bags from 2010 to 20. Thibodeaux shared a quick reflection on the addition of another choice of first round to the team.
“Having another guy in the first round,” said Thibodeaux concerning 2025 third overall choice Abdul Carter, “I think it’s incredible.”
