Shemar Stewart was at Minicamp recruit of the Bengals of Cincinnati this weekend, but he did not participate.
Stewart had not yet finalized his recruit agreement with Bengals, so he did not take the ground without contract.
Cincinnati took Stewart with the overall choice n ° 17 last month to be the next team pass.
Professional football speech explained what the restraint in the contract is:
“According to a source with knowledge of the situation, Bengals have tried to sign Stewart,” writes Mike Florio de PFT. “If we understand it, the talks bugger the percentage of compensation in the coming years to pay as a training list bonus.
“The bonus of the alignment of the training camp has become a device to put an important piece of the player’s remuneration in his pockets in the coming years, at the start of the season. In this case, the figures offered by Bengals reflect a percentage lower than that of the overall 17th choice received in 2024.”

It’s really strange thing to haggle.
If the Bengals believe that Stewart was worthy of the 17th choice in total, they should simply obtain the agreement on the line.
There is already so much money in all these situations, what difference does the placement in the chronology make? Stewart is more important for cincinnati on the ground than outside.
It is likely that Bengals and Stewart will understand this early enough.
At the same time, this is not necessarily how you want to start a relationship with an important role. There are at least tiny obligations which will already have to be repaired, let us hope once a contract is really signed.
