New Orleans’ saints have joined many more questions than answers.
New Orleans finished in the last place of the NFC South in 2024 with a 5-12 file. The saints had so many promises last year after starting the season with two eruption victories, but things have changed completely after that. The saints finished in the last place in the division, had an opening to the head coach and serious problems of salary ceiling to be worried.
The saints held the job of head coach with the former offensive coordinator of the Philadelphia Eagles, Kellen Moore, pushed certain ceiling problems in the future with contractual restructuring, and are clearly not reprimanded after making a handful of additions throughout the offseason. The team made a somewhat surprising decision to restructure the Derek Carr agreement and keep it in the lap, but this is no longer the case after announcing their retirement.
It was a wild off-season, to say the least in New Orleans. The saints had to make serious problems and the response to the team was not invalid. For example, Trevor Sikkema, Trevor Sikkema, shared a column with a column Dissection notes For each team and gave the saints a “D-“.
“New Orleans saints: D-” said Sikkema. “It is difficult not to be hard about the offseason of the saints. Unless you have Kellen Moore rental to the head coach – which was a good addition but not an immediate solution – there is not much to rent.
“Brandon Staley was hot and cold as a defensive coordinator. Kelvin Banks will help an offensive line which did not have a single full-time player obtaining a global note PFF above 70.0 last season, but Derek Carr’s withdrawal gives the offensive a very weak ceiling. The saints spent money from Justin Reid’s safety but were already pretty solid. On a complete reconstruction, and their projection of 2025 is that of another 5-12 team.
Sikkema does not seem to agree with the movements of the saints so far this offseason. But is New Orleans in a better position?
