Green Bay, Wisconsin (Wbay) – The Green Bay Packers welcomed a dozen NFL flag football teams in Lambeau this weekend for the NFL Flag Football Super Regional Tournament.
55 teams of 10 different states have registered to participate in the tournament.
The tournament has 9 different divisions, ranging from just under eight years to high school.
The event winners receive an offer to participate in the NFL flag championship in Canton, Ohio.
An athlete explained to us why this sport was so important to them.
“The reason why it is my favorite is because I like when it becomes really competitive, then I can show my skills that I am quite good in this sport,” he said.
A special launch event took place on Friday, where the players appreciated team presentations and photos with the offensive line player of the Packers Rasheed Walker.
Packers also provide each winning team with $ 5,000 for travel costs.
